The Société is delighted to announce the launch of its improved online service. The new website will enable us to engage the community more effectively, sharing our digitised collections and research projects in an accessible format. Alongside this project, we have digitised 150 years of newspapers dating from the early 1800s to the 1950s. This project would not have been possible without the support of the Jersey Community Foundation with funds from the Channel Island Lottery and the Association of Jersey Charities.
This project has been undertaken in partnership with TownsWeb Archiving, digitising all 50,000+ pages of the Chroniques de Jersey newspaper, and our new online digital collections hub is powered by their product PastView. The Société worked with local web developer Harry King to design the main website which aims to put the collections and the work of the Sections centre stage, whilst also providing easy access to news and events.
