We are a group of amateur plant enthusiasts eager to learn more about, record and protect Jersey’s wild plants. We visit a wide variety of outdoor locations, identifying and recording the plants we find. We try to arrange an off-island botanical excursion each year to France or one of the other Channel Islands.
Many members of the Botany Section go out and actively record plants. Our records are passed on to the Jersey Biodiversity Centre, and onwards to the recording schemes of the Botanical Society of Britain and Ireland (BSBI). Through long-term recording, we are able to monitor changes in the Island’s flora, and help prioritise declining species most in need of protection.
If you are interested please join us one evening to find out more.
