The SJ Open Day is the ‘last blast’ for our 150th Anniversary, and we intend to showcase the work done throughout the organisation.
We achieve our aims through the expertise of individual members in various fields, through the work of our active Sections which now number sixteen, by means of the resources held in our unique research collections in the Lord Coutanche Library and our Photo Archive, and via community outreach programmes and collaboration with local and international heritage partners in delivering cultural projects.
Each Section will provide a 15-minute presentation, the rest of the time they will each have a dedicated space with table/stands, where they can interact with the public and rally support for the projects they are doing or want to do.
The Photo Archive, Library and Bookshop will be all be open, and staff on hand to interact with the public.
