This year marks a significant moment , as we commemorate the 100th anniversary of the excavation that unveiled the mysteries of La Hougue Bie to the world. To honor this historic milestone, La Société Jersiaise and Jersey Heritage are jointly hosting a special event giving you a unique opportunity to rediscover the wonders of this ancient site.
Join us for an unforgettable evening featuring:
– The unveiling of “Lithophilia,” a new site-specific art commission by Charles Mauleverer, created exclusively for this centenary.
– Poetry readings inspired by La Hougue Bie, commissioned for this occasion, in Jèrriais and English.
– Engaging talks by long-standing Société member, Dr John Sharp and composer Charles Mauleverer.
– An open fire outside the Longhouse.
